14 Restaurants in Nisantasi City’s Mall to be Closed due to Alcohol Permit Problems PDF Print E-mail

Governership of Sisli yesterday announced that 14 restaurants operating in Nisantasi’s new shopping center, City’s will be closed due to operating without the necessary alcohol serving permits. The shopping center, now home to some of world’s well-known brands is located in close proximity to some schools in the district which legally does not allow the local government to issue alcohol permits to the restaurants in the shopping center.

Renaissance Construction, a Turkish company, founded in Russia in 1993, has plans to open 30 shopping centers in Turkey within 7 a period of 7 years. Renaissance, that already opened and operates Ankara – Optimum, will open 4 other shopping centers and outlets in Istanbul, Gaziantep, Adana and Malatya during 2008 and 2009.

Akmerkez Being Renovated for $ 25 Million PDF Print E-mail

Raif Dinckok, member of board of Akmerkez Shopping Center in Etiler, has announced that the renovation project for upgrading the center willAkmerkez logo take start in March. The construction is projected to continue for around a year. Dinckok added that “Due to changes in the social environment and to keep up and adapt to the changes in the community, shopping centers need to be renovated every 10 to 15 years. Akmerkez renovation project is not related to new shopping center investments in the same region and it is not motivated by the competition.”

Carrefour jv sells Istanbul real estate; to build Carrefour hypermarket on site PDF Print E-mail

Carrefour said its CarrefourSA joint venture with Sabanci Holding in Turkey, sold a real estate site in Istanbul for 267 mln eur and that it plans to build a Carrefour Logohypermarket on the location, to open in 2010. In a statement, Carrefour said the sale, to a joint venture between Apollo Real Estate and Multi Turkmall, will generate a pretax capital gain of around 150 mln eur but did not specify what its own share will be.

Astoria Shopping Center and residences, located in Esenler region of Istanbul is now open. Astoria Istanbul KempinskiThe facility consists of a shopping center, residences managed by Kempinski Group, a hotel and office space. The project is located in a premium area of Istanbul and is in close proximity to many other well-known projects.

All the available retail space was secured by tenants long before the opening. The rental prices for these spaces that are spread on 5 different floors are between 50 Euros and 200 Euros depending on the size and location of the stores.

Carefour logo

A joint venture between international property fund management group, Apollo Real Estate Advisors and Multi Turkmall Gayrimenkul Yatirim Inþaat ve Ticaret A.S., Turkey’s leading shopping center developer, has acquired the prime development site of the Carrefour Merter Shopping Centre in Istanbul. The retail development opportunity was purchased for €258 million from Carrefour S.A. and a further €325 million has been committed to its development.
